About

The city's biggest event day!

Espoo Day is a celebration for all Espoo residents held annually on the last Saturday of August. In 2023, Espoo Day will be celebrated on both 25 and 26 August – the festivities start on Friday! On Espoo Day, the residents of Espoo celebrate their city by organising various events around Espoo. The celebrations traditionally involve a number of local communities, companies and other operators. Over the years, the programme has included musical performances, dancing, outdoor cinema, roller skate disco and many other events!

Events organised on Espoo Day 26 August can be attended free of charge. The event calendar includes information on all events held during Espoo Day.

The date selected was 27 August, the date on which the foundation agreement of ‘Espoo Manorwas signed in 1556. These days, the last Saturday of August is dedicated to Espoo’s signature day and the related festivities.
