Finnish Nature Day at Haltia Nature Centre
Welcome to celebrate Finnish Nature Day at the Finnish Nature and Outdoor Center Haltia on August 26th! We raise the flag for Finland, where everyone can hike and strengthen their own and their loved ones’ well-being. During the day, there is a diverse program available for all ages to support mental, physical, and social well-being. Join us to take your family into nature on guided hikes, go on an adventure on the Maahisenkierros trail, or come listen to a Swedish-language adventure etiquette story in Haltia’s gallery!
You can also enjoy the well-being effects of nature on the Forest Mind Walk with eco-training exercises, and for the celebration, Haltia’s restaurant will serve a dinner of planetary food. During the flag-raising, there will be a mini-concert by Ida Elina playing the Finnish kantele! The day culminates in a preview screening of the documentary ‘Ilveskuiskaaja’ (The Lynx Whisperer) in Haltia’s auditorium. In the documentary, a resident of Rauma named Hannu follows the movements of lynxes through cameras, forming an unusual bond between them.
