Street Circus Carnival at Kulttuuriaukio
The Street Circus Carnival returns to Espoo on August 26, 2023!
Spreading the joy of contemporary circus, this event is a unique blend of relaxed atmosphere and internationally touring contemporary circus performances! The event takes place at Tapiola’s Kulttuuriaukio. Suitable for all ages and free for the audience, the carnival is organized in a picnic spirit, so please bring your own seating or folding chair.
Cirque Salmenaho – Sirkusta Metsässä (Circus in the Forest):
Two circus artists have lost their way in the forest. Can there be circus here? Expect acrobatics, juggling, and playful music. Cirque Salmenaho returns from international arenas to their homeland in Finland with a performance that will delight the whole family.
Performers: Erika Ahola ja Matias Salmenaho. Duration approximately 40 min.
Simon Llewellyn – We are the Champions:
Simon Llewellyn’s We are the Champions show transforms any environment into its own vaudeville circus. We are the Champions is an incredible cavalcade of astonishing skills, where circus tricks and physical comedy go hand in hand!
Performers: Simon Llewellyn. Duration approximately 30 min.
Arctic Ensemble – Dish Soap Opera:
Dish Soap Opera is a collage of the lives of two circus artists in a six-square-meter motorhome. The performance deals with the coexistence of two people in all its strangeness and brings to the stage a pile of different characters that emerge from everyday life. This contemporary circus performance, combining skilled aerial acrobatics, physical theater, and dance, takes the audience on a journey through an ordinary day seasoned with a full spectrum of emotions.
