For event organizers

Espoo celebrates!
22.–27.8.
In 2022, it will be 50 years since Espoo was declared a city. Inspired by this great year we decided to expand the traditional Espoo Day into a week-long celebration! The festive week begins on Monday and culminates in Saturday’s traditional Espoo Day. Events participating in the celebration week can last for an entire week, a few days, or even just one afternoon.
Monday to Friday 22-26 August events may include an entry fee.
Park Carnival
23.–27.8.
The Park Carnival is an open-air event open to all, offering performances, experiences, workshops and activities for the residents of the surrounding area. Anyone can register their event or activity to the program. Park Carnivals are held in Järvenperä, Leppävaara, Suurpelto, Oittaa and Vanttila. You can submit your event or activity to one or more locations (see the instructions below for details).
Park Carnival events are mostly free of charge.
Espoo Day
27.8.
The last Saturday in August is dedicated to Espoo Day. It is a event for the whole city and it consists of a program built by Espoo residents. All kinds of events can take part in Espoo Day. For example, you can organize a picnic, a music performance or a yoga class in the park! Strongly political or religious messages are not part of Espoo Day.
Espoo Day events are free of charge.

Espoo has many great places that can be used for organizing events. There are many town squares, beaches and parks to choose from. Read more about locations from here.
Depending on the event, the event organizer must apply for the required permits well in advance from different authorities or notify the required authorities. Read more about permits and how to apply them from here.
A good event organizer also keeps in mind the environmental effects of the event. Here you can read about how to organize an event while ensuring that the environmental impact is as low as possible.
Espoo is an equal city for everyone and we strive to build our events accessible to all people. Accessibility means, for example, an accessible venue and clear communication. We hope that all event organizers will pay attention to accessibility.
